Tara is an accomplished painter renowned for her vibrant acrylic compositions, predominantly characterized by semi-abstract motifs. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Tara fulfils the roles of a devoted mother and a diligent GP registrar. Currently living in Ashburton, Tara maintains a balanced schedule, devoting four days weekly to her General Practice clinic while allocating the remaining three days to family commitments and her passion for painting.

Originally from the Chatham Islands, Tara’s upbringing inspired her with a rich tapestry of experiences, fostering a deep appreciation for artistic expression form an early age. Her artistic journey commenced at the age of 14, experimenting with acrylics on canvas, culminating in a solo exhibition at Cloister’s Gallery, Christchurch’s Art Centre, by the age of 15. Since then, Tara has showcased her works in numerous group and solo exhibitions, alongside fulfilling various painting commissions.

While Tara has availed herself of workshops to enrich her craft, her primary mode of artistic evolution has been through self-directed exploration and experimentation. With an innate passion for colour exploration, Tara endeavours to craft artworks that resonate deeply with her audience.
In 2023, Tara embarked on her online art venture, Tara King Creative, showcasing an eclectic array of original artworks, fine art prints, and bespoke commissions, thereby extending her artistic vision to a broader audience.
